A Holter monitor is a small device that records your heartbeat throughout the day. Electrodes are placed on your chest, and the device in concealed underneath your clothing.
We can use the data from this to help determine why you are experiencing symptoms such as palpitations, dizziness, passing out, etc. Often, a Holter monitor is combined with cardiac event monitoring to give us a broader look at your situation.
While undergoing Holter monitoring, you are free to go about your normal activities. However, we recommend showering before starting to avoid water contact to the electrical device.
